I have discovered that someone has decided to use my pattern to make money and has published it online making a nice sum of money.
It is with regret that in an attempt to prevent this happening I have published the pattern myself on Etsy so it can be purchased. I have tried to keep the cost as low as possible for everyone. From here I will be able to also offer technical support.
Sorry for the quick decision but I hated being taken advantage of. I have loved receiving you comments and positive feedback on the pattern. It is unbeliable the views this item has received. I will try to provide more free patterns in the near future

Would this fit for a 5 year old?

Depends on there size. The finished size I made is approx 35″ wide at the top and 40″ long not including the fin.

Thinking about it Tiff the pattern is adaptable. Make the continuous rounds until it is wide enough then skip to the row where you chain 2 and make the desired length. I hope this helps.

On the tail the stitches numbers seem off. I can’t seem to figure out the right count.

On the Fin part row 7 says 33 stitches, but when you decrease in row 6 you end with 32? Is this correct, should row 7 be 32?

I don’t understand round 7 on the body? How does that make 24 stitches??? I’m not sure what I’m missing?

Do 2 dc then a 2d inc. Repeat this six times and you will have 24 stitches

So I have finished this blanket up to the fin and I starting on the fin and got up to row 7 and seem to be doing something wrong. I can’t figure out why it’s not working. I know in row 6 there is 32 stitches but row 7 there’s 33 stitches so how does that work? I love the pattern so far and how it’s working out but can’t seem to get the fin right. I am usually pretty good at figuring things out as I have been crocheting for a long time but can’t seem to get this one. Help please! Thanks so very much!!!!

How do I make this mermaid tail blanket for a 10 year old.
My granddaughter would like to have this for her birthday sleep over next week.
I don’t crochet that much, this pattern looks easy enough for me.
Please please let me know as soon as possible.

Have you tried using a super chunky yarn and a bigger hook?

Yes, but she is very tall for her age..
I was hoping that you would have the same pattern for older children. That’s is a very nice looking blanket, also easy for us beginners.
Also do you have a shark pattern for 6 yr old and 10 yr old now the boys would like a blanket to.
Thank you

I’d like to use red heart in aran size as I have so much of it on hand, do you think the pattern would work as it is in that size? Or would I need to adjust the pattern, or maybe work with a double strand? Thanks!

It would. Towards the end you can adapt the tail to the size you require.

Hi, I started the blanket, but do to family illness I could not finish it. I’m trying to finish it know, but I don’t understand Row 27 if you chain 2 and continue from there you will always be uneven in rows.
My understanding is to chain 2 then turn and continue to dc.
Please explain which is right.
Is there a update on the pattern? My granddaughter can’t wait for me to finish.
Greatly appreciated.
